On the other hand, it depends on the availability of suitable cases and supervisors. The HKCMAC would only assign one supervisor to live supervise each eligible trainee. The agency provides only Cantonese speaking case(s) for the practice. Most live supervision cases require interviews to be conducted during our office hours, i.e. Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon. The applicant has the responsibility to commit to the live supervision process, in which at least 4-8 sessions with intervals of one to two weeks are expected. Should the applicant turn down the invitation to undergo a live supervision case for twice, it will be regarded as withdrawal from the live supervision scheme. He/she can reapply later on when he/she is available to take up a case. HKCMAC reserves the right to make the final decision on whether to accept the application. HKCMAC charges a standard rate of HK$800 per hour for live supervision service, including briefing, clients interview and debriefing time. Supervision fee is capped at HK$14,400 (18 hrs) per live supervision. The supervisor will keep record of the live supervision time. Upon case termination, the supervisor will complete the ‘Family Mediation Live Supervision Hour Record Sheet’ with the countersign by the supervisee. The supervisee needs to pay a deposit of HK$5,000 when the live supervision is started. The balance is due upon the termination of the case(s), including drop-out case(s) and unsuccessful case(s). All payment should be made by cheque and payable to “The Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council”. The payment should be sent to the Centre Supervisor of the Marriage Mediation Counselling Service Centre. After payment is received, the supervisor will complete the “Mediator Assessment Form” (Form 1 (F)) for the trainee mediator.
